For this session i was taught the Yi Ji Kim Yeung Ma (Character Two Goat Sitting Stance)
When performed correctly it should have the knees not too bent (past your feet), you should lean back just alittle bit to sit in the stance correctly (the strain should be felt in the thighs and the buttocks and the hands held near the armpits but not touching the body.
Then i was taught how to do some basic footwork forward with punches starting from my back hand. The front foot should be turned inwards to protect the groin area with the rear foot pointing outwards/away from the body.
The next version of this exercise had me hitting my Sifu’s hand , i would move and strike it as soon as he said to hit it. This is to test everything was in sync.
